On Friday night, I took my boyfriend out to dinner to celebrate, well...that we are together, I guess. We didn’t want to do anything too fancy, and we both love Red Lobster’s cheddar bay biscuits, so it wasn’t a tough decision.
Now, Red Lobster is not the best seafood that you can get, but garlic shrimp and lobster tails soaked in butter is not a hard sell for either of us. The best part of Red Lobster is actually the biscuit basket that they bring around with your meal. And when you’re done??? They bring you more!
Except that last night, they didn’t.
That’s right. We gobbled up our first basket of delicious cheesy biscuit goodness with our lobster artichoke appetizer, sipped our beers (Sam Adams Noble Pils for me!) and then began to sup on our entrées, all the while waiting for another basket to arrive...it never came.
You may think that I should have simply asked the server for another helping, but to be honest, I shouldn’t HAVE to. This is what Red Lobster and Olive Garden are built on...endless biscuits and breadsticks. The whole idea is that when you have gorged yourself on your meal, you get a ToGo box and fill it with your hoard of free bread! Now, apparently, you have to ask for such things. Ridiculous. So we were both full. So we didn’t order dessert. So they were terribly busy.
So what? Those cheddar bay biscuits are mine dammit. And next time, come hell or high water, I will have my fill!
